This solar charger is exactly what you need when you will be far from an outlet and need to power your small electronics, like a cell phone or small light. It is very lightweight and easy to set up. Due to its portability, it is not that large so you will need to put it in the sun for a long time to get it to fully charge. If you can charge it while you hike, it will be easier. I found that it was easy to lash on and charge (however, you need to remember to keep it mostly facing the sun so there is some adjusting necessary). It is also slower once you use it to power your small device – don’t expect it to charge your devices as if they are at home on a wall charger. However, if you use it efficiently, you can go many days and have your device or devices functional and working. Chargers like this one are invaluable and can keep you informed and in contact with the outside world when you are far away. It comes with a small manual as well as all of the cables to charge it. You will want to accessorize it with whatever USB cables and adapters you need for the devices that you are bringing. It can also be used closer to home as a rechargeable power source by simply charging it using an AC outlet. It’s a nice extra secondary feature that helps in a pinch when your other power sources are not handy or depleted. Recommended!
